How to Add Home Screen Icons for Safari in the iPhone

The iPhone Home Screen contains icons which allow you to easily navigate your device's many applications and features. The iPhone's Safari browser gives you the ability to add Home Screen icons which automatically open your favorite Web pages. This tutorial shows you how to create these icons in just a few easy steps.

Step 1: open your Safari browser by tapping on the Safari icon, normally located on your iPhone Home Screen.

Step 2: Enter the website

 

Step 3: Verify the Website URL is correct. Choose the action button in the middle (square with arrow in it) to access options...

 

Step 4: On the pop-up menu, touch the "Add to HomeScreen" option. 

 

Step 5: Change the name to suit you. Don’t choose a name that’s too long because it needs to fit under a standard icon. Touch the Add button when you’re ready.

 

Step 6: You’ll return to the home screen, which is now showing a new icon. You’ll notice that the icon displays a miniature screenshot of the website. However, if the website offers an iPhone icon, it will actually show the icon instead.
